2. Framed and Shot 08.18.08 / 2am

   Great “festival shot”. I was thinking rock and roll, but then I saw the span in age and had to read the post. I like the sence of movement and the colour. If I can add a small point, it would be even better if one of the faces was tack sharp. However, we all know that crowd control is difficult.
   I see it is shot with the Sigma 30. I have read reviews spanning from Great to Awful. Are you happy with it?

   If you study the specs of the image, you can see that it is shot at 1/3 of a second (not 1/30) at ISO 100 at around 6PM in january, and neither the lens nor the camera have image stabilization. To get this effect and these colours (which I love) you have to compromize with stability, even at f1.4. But if the smiling woman towards the left hadn’t been as sharp as she is, the image wouldn’t have worked.

   I love this lens for the colours and the DOF flexibility. But you have to be very careful where you focus when shooting wide open. Using the Olympus E-500 camera it’s the one lens I wouldn’t be without. With the Olympus E3, it’s a different story. For some reason, I just don’t get the same results with the latter camera. So my answer is: The lens is both great and awful, depending in what you use it for and which camera you use it with.

   What caught my eye here was the young lady in the middle, a little brighter. While the crowd is full of expectation, she is awaiting. Down right corner you have caught a character from a Munch painting. Cool. Is it me, or should I be in bed sleeping now?

   Stemningsfullt, og det er vel det som er meningen med dette bildet? Men jeg er litt usikker på om jeg ikke syns det ble litt vel mye uskarphet…
